Sanniquille, Nimba County is the birthplace of the Organization of African Unity (O.A.U / A.U). The monument is a reminder of the Pan African movement which was spearheaded by Liberia to further progress the living conditions of its fellow African brothers that lacked the privilege of true freedom throughout Africa during colonialism
